These idiots bringing weapons to presidential appearances had better hope that nobody sets off a firecracker. They may find their thinly veiled threats backfiring on them, literally.
"Thinly veiled threats" is a great way to put it. Why is everyone pretending its anything but terrorism? It is terrorism by any definition of the word.
Rachel Maddow continues to do a great job of covering this. She recently interviewed a former Secret Service agent who explained how much it raises the level of tension. The Bush administration, he said, would reject people in the immediate area if their t-shirts expressed anti-Bush sentiments.
He said if they create a security zone, they legally can keep guns out of it regardless of the state laws.
That's pretty clearly what they should start doing.
